Trapp Family is a company dedicated to hosting and feeding visitors in Monteverde, with firm convictions towards fair management of high quality, human resources, environmental responsibility and well-being of the destination. Therefore, we explicitly express our commitment to:

• The periodic identification of environmental, socioeconomic and economic impacts of the operation, to reduce the negative ones, optimize the positive ones and ensure compliance with legal requirements and other commitments acquired in matters of sustainable development.
• Effective actions that guarantee the quality of services and continuous improvement through the implementation of an information management system, the measurement and analysis of the opinion of our clients, the continuous search for more accessible rural tourist conditions and experiences to the enjoyment of all our clientele. Incorporate respect for the cultural, historical and archaeological heritage.
• Ensure a work environment where development and training opportunities are promoted for the work team, integrating employment practices and inclusive employee selection processes. Considering the approach of gender, age, diversity, people with disabilities and conditions of respect that prevent, discourage, avoid and punish sexual harassment behaviors.
• Support of activities that promote human dignity, actively rejecting the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, and all kinds of abuse and exploitation in travel and tourism. Likewise, a participation in the destination, the community and external actors that contribute to the local development of the communities.
• The protection of the environment, including the prevention of pollution, the sustainable use of resources, the mitigation and adaptation to climate change, the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems, the use of native plants, the fight against manipulation, feeding, capture, captivity and illegal commercialization of wild species and prohibited, threatened and endangered species. As well as the rigorous selection of suppliers that ensure products and services consistent with sustainability.

Throughout the hotel you will find labelled bins. In your room, you will find 3 containers:

Place recyclable waste here, such as plastic and glass bottles, Tetra Pak containers, aluminum cans (drinks and tuna), clean paper and cardboard.

Place compostable plant-based waste here, such as food scraps, fruits, vegetables, peels and seeds. We produce compost with organic waste.

In the bathroom, you will find a bin with this sign. Please place toilet paper, sanitary pads, wet wipes, diapers, disposable tissues, dirty cardboard or paper, animal-based waste, and non-recyclable items.
